Embankment Preservation Coalition Annual Members Meeting

Sunday, November 19, 2017, 4-6 pm

The Embankment Preservation Coalition's Annual Members Meeting is set for Sunday, November 19, 2017, from 4 to 6pm, at the Center for the Arts at Casa Colombo, 380 Monmouth Street.  The meeting features a slide show on the Harsimus Branch and the historic assets along it that are listed or eligible for listing on the National Register of Historic Places.

These assets were identified during a review of cultural resources currently underway at the federal Surface Transportation Board. The review is mandated by the National Historic Preservation Act, which requires federal agencies to consider adverse effects to resources eligible for the National Register of Historic Places before making decisions on undertakings.  Contributions from the public were important to identifying some of these assets and will be critical to the next steps in the review process.  Come learn about the rich historic resources of Jersey City and how you can help to preserve them.

The meeting is free and open to the public; refreshments will be served. Attendees will also be able to enjoy an exhibit of art from Northern India in the Center's gallery, our meeting place. To help us plan, please make a reservation.
